1ST EDITION OF HERITAGE DAYS OF RABAT SALÉ
The Agency for the Development of the Bouregreg valley has been a partner of the 1st edition of Rabat Salé Heritage Days from 17 to 19 April 2015.
Largely inspired by the experience of Casamémoire, this first edition, organized by the Association Rabat SaléMemory, has favored iconic landmarks on both sides of the Bouregreg.
3 sites have been opened to visitors led by over than 50 volunteer guides:
- The Oudayas circuit that runs from Bab El Kebir to Sqala
- A Sale path which starts at Bab MrissaBorjRoukni
- The circuit Chellahwhich takes us to the ancient SalaChellahMerinid
A rare opportunity to discover general public placesusually closed to the public.
The festive part of the event was provided by a brass band and a band of the brotherhood of Aissaouas who wandered in the Mohamed V Avenue and Bab Lamrissa in Sale.
The inaugural evening “Night of Heritage” was held April 17 from 18h to midnight, the BNRM as a series of lectures. The evening began with a performance of the National Circus School of Shems’y, in partnership with the Karacéna association.
Over boys also participated in the activities in Bab Lamrissa and on the forecourt of the BNRM, throughout all the night of Heritage, which contributed to the success of the event.
Shems’y artists have also invests the Chellah, Oudayas and Borj Al Doumoue, inviting to stroll, with a staging of Sophia Perez.
On the other hand traditional Moroccan Tales in Arabic and French, were presented during the Night of Heritage and Saturday afternoon in museum Oudayas by storytellers FatihaDrissi and AmalKhizioua.
This first edition has received wide media coverage and has been very successful since the night of Heritage and the 3 sites open to visitors during the 3 days, experienced a massive influx of people in Rabat and Salé.
