SIGNATURE OF THE CONVENTION OF GRAND THEATER IN RABAT
The completion of the Grand Theatre in Rabat has been this morning at the headquarters of the Wilaya of Greater Casablanca the object of an important signing ceremony of the financing of the project agreement between the Minister of Interior, Mr. TaiebCherkaoui, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr. SalaheddineMezouar, the CEO of the Hassan II Fund for Economic and Social Development, Mr. AbdelouahedKabbaj, and the GeneralDirector of the Agency for the development of the Bouregreg Valley, Mr. LemghariEssakl.
The Grand Theatre of Rabat will be built in the area of the Bouregreg valley. It must fit within its development program including tourist constructions and the development of residential, touristic, recreational and cultural spaces. Project management has been entrusted to the Agency for the Development of the Bouregreg Valley.
To this, a second signing ceremony was held between the Director General of the Agency for the Development of the Bouregreg Valley, Mr. LemghariEssakl and MsZahaHadid, the representative of the Architecture firm. This concerns the architectural design and monitoring the work of the project of the Grand Theatre in Rabat.
The signing of these two agreements are part of the policy concerning the cultural infrastructure across the kingdom and particularly the city of Rabat. It reflects the will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him, to provide the capital of the Kingdom of great theater that will raise it among the great cultural capitals of the Mediterranean.
Cet édifice remarquable a été dessiné par le Cabinet Zaha Hadid Architects,, and involves a total budget of 1 677 million dirhams. It extends over an area of 25,500 m2 and consists of a large auditorium of 1,900 seats, a small hall of 520 seats, a creative studio, an amphitheater of 7,000 seats and outdoor facilities on 30.000 m2.
